My portrait sessions often start at one of my favourite portrait locations in Minneapolis, the historical landmark, Pillsbury A-Mill Artist lofts. From there, we weave our way, past railroad tracks and historic buildings towards the iconic St Anthony Main area where cobblestone lined streets, bustling restaurants (think fairy lights) and uber cool industrial / ancient buildings live shoulder to shoulder, boasting a unique urban charm. Adding to all our photographic options, this area is located right on the Mississippi River with stunning views of downtown Minneapolis and the Stone Arch bridge within walking distance too. If 'variety is the spice of life' and you are wanting to add a little 'edgy fun' to your portrait session, then St Anthony Main is a great choice for you.
Want the best of both worlds — city vibes and nature’s calm? Check out my Father Hennepin Bluff Park blog post, highlighting another of my favourite portrait locations in Minneapolis, and showcasing how a two-hour session here can offer incredible variety.
Added Bonus - for those grad students wanting to include their pooch in their photo session, St Anthony Main is the perfect dog-friendly destination with many outdoor patios at restaurants for them to tag along too.
