My love for weddings is born from and sustained by my passion for a great story, my craving to create beauty but most importantly my desire to make everyone feel beautiful in front of the lens.
More than anything I love to shoot weddings as it is a constant reminder that in the end there is nothing more important in life than the people we love.
While I cover your wedding in a journalistic style, I do believe there is a time and place for gorgeous casually posed images of the bride and groom together. I love to shoot with rich color and from interesting angles, so don't be alarmed if you find guests photographing me as I am photographing you shooting from ground zero.
My goal is to provide you with the story of your wedding day with minimal guiding or posing, and to capture the 'passionately playful' chemistry between two people in love.
So, to all my future clients out there who ask me, 'which of your photos is your all time favorite'? …..I flash you a smile as wide as the Mississippi and respond….."The one I am going to take of you tomorrow"!

My work includes grand openings for hair studios, clothing companies, security firms, intimate dinners, private client functions, team-building, sporting events, product launches, conferences and private birthday celebrations.

"Great photography is about depth of feeling, not depth of field" - Peter Adonis
This philosophy on photography is central to the way I approach portrait sessions - people look their best when they feel their best.
I love photographing children, couples and families. From engagement shoots, to clients who are tired of shooting their own selfies, to students celebrating the transition from high school into university, my portrait sessions are a potpourri of exotic places and people with striking smiles and expressions.
My aim is to create beautiful and honest images that portray the emotion and turn 'just another day' into a lifeline of magical memories.
The real beauty of portrait sessions is their carefree nature. As a photographer, I have more time to look for unique details, plan sessions around interesting light and look for ways to capture amazing connections between people.
Dates are flexible, I work with natural light and do all shoots either on location or at your home.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are your Prices
A: My prices are not listed as they vary by location, and I often create custom collections for clients like yourself, so please email me and I will send you all the information you need.
Q: Do you work with a second photographer
A: I'm the only photographer working with my company, and the only photographer shooting on each wedding day. If you are still unsure as to how the day can be documented by only one photographer I will be glad to provide some galleries for you to see how I cover the entire day on my own
Q: Do you offer engagement sessions
A: Yes, I do! I have two levels of engagement sessions available to suit clients who want something quick and easy, as well as clients who want a more involved type of session. Certain travel rates may apply to areas outside my usual geographic location.
Q: Where do you live and how far will you travel
A: I live in Minneapolis, USA from March to November and Cape Town, South Africa from November to March. I've been all over the world to photograph weddings in places like France, Germany, Tanzania, Cuba, Mexico, Ireland and England. I am a destination wedding specialist with hundreds of frequent flier miles and quite a few theories on how to get rid of jetlag. Travel expenses are billed very simply—if airfare, hotel and car rental are needed all you are responsible for is a direct reimbursement of the charges.
Q: We want to take photographs at a unique wedding location.
A: There are many places that do require you to get a permit but the permit has to be obtained by the client, not the photographer. If you have any questions about the location, just let me know and I will help you figure out if a permit is needed.
Q: How long does it take before we receive our products and photographs
A: Online galleries and blogs are posted within 6 weeks of the wedding date. Digital files are available within 8 weeks of the wedding date. Upon final approval of album designs most albums are ready for delivery within twelve weeks.
Q: How many images will we receive
A: My average minimum is around 400 images, but those numbers vary and depend on factors like the number of guests, hours of coverage, type of event, how many hours of dancing covered etc
Q: Do we keep the digital negatives
A: I provide the selected, edited high-resolution digital files (the digital equivalent of negatives). I do retain the copyright to the images and the right to use the for promotional purposes, competition, professional review etc. You are allowed to make unlimited personal reproductions and copies for your family and friends.
Q: Do we receive the raw, unedited files
A: The raw, unedited files aren't available for viewing or purchase. The final images selected for editing and final delivery reflect my high standards and everything else isn't archived in the studio. The original images that didn't make the final cut aren't archived and therefore aren't available.
Q: Do you edit all you own images
A: Yes, I do! Every image that you receive has been hand-edited, one at a time, without batching in bulk groups or mass-producing the results. Retouching includes cropping, colour correction and the removal of blemishes. More involved editing or requests for major image manipulation like removal of braces will incur an extra charge.
Q: Do you come to the rehearsal
A: Rehearsal dinner coverage is available if you'd like to addit to your collection; otherwise I don't atten the rehearsals
Q: How does the album design process work
A: I give you 6 months to make your album selections before the book is subject to a fee due to increases in yearly production costs. You do get to review your album design and make two rounds of changes to it before a change fee is assessed. Once you approve the layout, you will be give various options pertaining to cover style, colour, imprinting and other small details. I strive to keep your designs clean and classic, and offer clients upgrades to matted albums should you want a more traditional style.
Q: What is the 'online gallery' mentioned in your collections
A: It is a private online gallery, password protected section on my website where all of your wedding photographs will be placed online for you and your family and friends to view. It is also a secure shopping cart-which allows you (and family and friends) to order prints and cards and select album prints online. All you have to do is provide the password to anyone who you want to be able to view the images.
Q: Do you need time to shoot the Bride and Groom alone
A: Absolutely. I'd like an hour alone with you both sometime during the day to create some images of you without your wedding party or guests looking on.
Q: Do you take posted family photos
A: Definately. I strongly believe in those family images, as they're records of your entire family at an important time in their history together.
Q: Can we provide you with a 'short list'
A: Other than family groupings, I'd prefer that you didn't as it results in a lesser amount of documentary coverage and more time spent rounding up guests to check the groupings off a list.
Q: What cameras and lenses do you use
A: I am a Nikon D750 and D7100 camera bodies. My lenses of choice are Nikkor 24mm f/2.8, Nikkor 35mm f/1.8, Nikkor 85mm f/1.8, Rokinon 85mm F/1.4, Nikkor 10.5mm f2.8, Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 and Tokina 100mm f/2.8 Macro.
Q: Can you hold a date for me
A: I'm sorry, but I can't hold the date or pencil you in. To be fair to everyone I can't “hold” a date without a retainer/deposit and a signed contract. I accept bookings on a first come/first serve basis.
Q: What is your payment schedule
A: Depending on your wedding package of choice a booking fee is necessary to reserve your date with the outstanding balance of payment due on the 1st business day after your wedding date.
Q: What form of payment do you accept
A: Cash, Cheque, EFT, Paypal and credit cards. Minnesota state sales tax applies.
Q: If we're running late, will you stay longer than you were scheduled
A: Certainly. I do have an overtime rate and it goes into effect only with your permission and approval that I continue coverage. I will bill you for those hours after you return from your honeymoon.
Q: Do we need to feed you at the reception
A: It would would be greatly appreciated if you did. It doesn't have to be the same as your sit-down meal( many caterers offer “vendor meals” as an add-on option) but feeding me ensures that I keep my sense of humour, not to mention keeping me more mobile. I also prefer to be fed when you are being eating, because when you're eating your not at your most photogenic.
Q: Can our family and friends take photos with their cameras
A: Definately. I do however request they not swarm the family photographs right away because I'd prefer all eyes facing me in your images. I don't allow family or friends to come along for the bridal images or the images of you two alone for privacy purposes as other people are distracting.
